Problem:
Many modern food courts lack bold ethnic offerings, especially those that elevate traditional dishes with fresh presentation and branding. Padang cuisine is rich in flavor, but it’s often presented in conventional formats that don’t appeal to younger, urban audiences.
Dendeng Hotplate addresses this gap by offering iconic Padang dishes especially dendeng balado in an exciting, modern format served on hotplates that enhance aroma, heat, and presentation.
The challenge is to develop a brand identity that reflects both tradition and modernity, fiery flavor and visual heat.
Task:
The goal of Dendeng Hotplate’s branding is to build a bold, fiery, and energetic visual identity that stands out in a crowded food court setting.
The logo features a custom, distressed bold typeface framed by flames, reinforcing the hotplate concept. The color palette—dominated by striking reds and charred blacks conveys spice, heat, and intensity, inspired by the essence of grilled dendeng balado.
This visual identity will be applied consistently across food packaging, signage, uniforms, and digital assets, establishing Dendeng Hotplate as the go-to destination for modern Padang food lovers who crave both authenticity and attitude.
